Long (150 words)

Smiles for Orphans and Vulnerable Children Initiative (SOVCI) is a non-governmental organisation based in Ojo, Lagos State, Nigeria, registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC No. 165554). Its mission is to ensure that every orphan and vulnerable child, irrespective of gender, race and belief, gets the chance to have a happy and fulfilled life. SOVCI raises support for children’s education, feeding, health care and general welfare, and takes it to orphanage homes through outreaches. It holds Children’s Day celebrations for children from orphanage homes and schools — in 2024 under the theme “Made For More”, with 12 homes invited — and runs the SOVCI Streets to School project, which helps out-of-school children enrol and keeps pupils from poor homes in school. SOVCI also speaks up for orphans, including on World Orphans Day. Its founder and team lead is Euriel Momah.
